
Dr Kathleeya Stang-Veldhouse
Dr Kathleeya Stang-Veldhouse MD, MPH, MSc is board-certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). She completed a Bachelor of Arts with a dual major in Biology and Psychology at the University of Chicago, followed by a Master of Public Health in Health Management and Policy from the University of Michigan, before receiving her medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago (2007).
Dr Stang-Veldhouse undertook postgraduate medical training in the United States, including an internal medicine internship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and ophthalmology residency training at the University of North Carolina.
After relocating to New Zealand in 2011, she completed a clinical research fellowship in oculoplastic surgery and was awarded a Master of Science with first-class honours from the University of Auckland, focusing on ocular prosthetic dynamics and advanced imaging. She also holds additional qualifications in medical education through Harvard Medical School and is accredited by the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM).
Her clinical interests include oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery, with additional expertise in aesthetic medicine and ocular prosthetics. Dr Stang-Veldhouse works across both public and private sectors and is involved in teaching and mentoring junior doctors.
